…from ideation and creation from scratch, to testing and tweaking, I love working with clients on all parts of recipe development and testing!
My favorite thing is heading into one of my three kitchens, (especially my rustic and vintage outdoor cookhouse with my grandma’s double oven stove), where I do my happy dance while playing with food. That is what most makes my heart happy. Whether your needs are for the consumer audience, a cookbook author needing recipe testing assistance, needing recipes created with your value-added products, or as a wholesaler marketing to restaurants, caterers, grocers and others, my experiences cover them all, and it would be my pleasure to get into my kitchen and happy dance my skills for you and your products!

I have had the pleasure of working with many outstanding companies and publications over the years... here are some of them! In addition to creating the recipes below, I propped and styled them too...and photographed those in Carolina Country, including the November  2017 cover!

For 5 years, I was the recipe developer, tester,
food & prop stylist and contest judge
for Our State Magazine.
Some of my styling and creations are here!

"Wendy is a regular (and valued) contributor to Carolina Country magazine. I learned early on that our readers take food seriously, and our recipes section is hailed as a reader favorite time and time again. I can trust that Wendy's recipes will be accurate, creative and (most importantly) delicious. And her food photography is first-rate! She often pitches great story ideas from around the state -- not necessarily food-related. Her folksy, approachable personality shines through in her feature writing, which always resonates with readers."

"Wendy is a wonderful recipe developer and food stylist. She has a great "thinking out of the box" attitude and can "see" how things are going to be before they even begin. Wendy has developed recipes using my company's products and has turned out some dishes that were scrumptious; mixing ingredients that I would never have thought to try. She has a terrific personality and can work with anyone. I call on Wendy whenever I am interested in developing new and different products for my business., her creativity is outstanding."

With her unique North Carolina themed cakes for Our State magazine, Wendy created 5 truly unique concoctions using local food favorites such as country ham, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, pimento cheese, Nabs and Pepsi. Ham on cake? – you bet when Wendy is in charge – a true original with a passion for food that sizzles, surprises, and is all around sensational."

"As creative director of Carolina Country magazine, I’m thankful to have the stellar eye and creativity of Wendy Perry as our main recipes contributor/stylist. It’s no small feat to come up with a recipe that tastes delicious and photographs well, but she manages to do both with aplomb."

"I hired Wendy to become or recipe tester for Our State magazine. She did a fantastic job with that but she brought so much more to table. She came to shoots equipped with great props that were perfect for what we were doing which added so much to our final shots. She did so well with that job, that we asked her to invent recipes for North Carolina Specific cakes that we could feature in Our State. I asked for 1 recipe and she came back to me with 6! We ended up using 5 and they were FANTASTIC. We could not have pulled off the N.C. Cake issue without her. Wendy is a hard worker and she went above and beyond for us. She has a stand-out personality. I would recommend her for any recipe tester, prop styling, or food styling job."
