Spring Employee Day... "Farmer's Market" theme
Jenny and Nancy let me run with my imagination on this one, and THAT was fun! The "Farm Fresh Salad Bar" was presented on a vintage red tobacco truck atop bales of wheat straw. North Carolina pickles were served ice cold in a tub of ice alongside an assortment of salad dressings in water buckets. Everyone really loved the tailgate "Mater Sammich Bar" featuring Wrenn's tomatoes, bacon, local lettuce and served with Merita breads and a tub of mayos of all sorts, but mostly the DUKE'S got used!
Faces lit up at the "Strawberry Shortcake Bar," where Vollmer Farm berries were served atop brownies, traditional cupcakes and Krispy Kremes. To wash it all down, guests dropped by the "Lemonade Stand." Before, during and after lunch, employees strolled "Market Street" lined with local farmers with their produce, beekeepers with honey, jam makers and soap makers offered their wares. Others offered gardening tool safety and sun skin care tips! This was one of the most fun events I've ever done...
